Our inheritance is going to WTS

just found out yesterday, by way of the grapevine, that my jw husband's inheritance from his parents, is going to the wts.

i had been trying to tell my husband that the wts is doing this now, and he did not believe me.

and would u believe it, we heard yesterday, from his his nephew, that it is so, they are not leaving anything to their kids, all to the wts.

That's awful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't agree with this theory of the WT at all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Granted money is needed to support having meetings, etc., I never contribute more than I should. I make my calculations based on the number of people that attend these meetings and just contribute my share provided everyone else give their share as well. And when they do the reading of the financial affairs, if we're short, I don't feel the least bit guilty.

And this crap of giving extra contributions to circuit/district overseers/bethelites/missionaries is non-existant with me! Shoot, they have all expenses covered as it is: Even a brand spanking new vehicle every year and great health insurance and the best housing possible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I consider those who pour more money into these people's pockets plain 'men worshippers'. And believe me, there are so many of those within the WT!

Needless to say, Wednesday, I'm sorry this is happening in your case.

Mormons

So you went from one organized religion to another and still found flaws.

The older I get the more I believe that mankind really doesn't know at all about the higher powers and their ultimate purpose.

Every religion I know is a 'lie', or has plenty of other lies associated with it. With every spiritual way anyone chooses there'll be struggles to deal with.

So, let's all find the 'lie' that makes us feel our best and stick with it.

My Story

in 1990 my mother married an american guy from that she had met while working for an aircraft company.

my brother was not allowed to visit me and they even turned him against me.

the relationship that my mother and i have will never be like what we had.

Hope you continue to do well in your new lifestyle. However, it's not the same experience for all that leave and the ones inside.

I lead a somewhat 'double life', if you will, because I don't want to lose the good relationship I have with my parents and also because I happen to know some really nice people who just happen to be JWs. I feel just fine and happy with my balancing act.

You'd all be surprised of the great number of us who are in there but just do the minimum required, or just hear what they have to say and turn around to do what we want anyway!

Someday soon I plan to do a slow fade, but thus far I can live with my current decision to be 'in' but very far from 100%.

If you both feel better leaving the organization, then by all means, more power to you! But in all fairness, leave be the ones in your family that feel just as good being in the religion.

Also, is quite an interesting reasoning on you part that you should call it a 'lie' but then go on to enjoy a holiday founded on the biggest lie of them all!

How about doing some research on it, the way you did your research on the religion so well.

Funny how we people think at times, especially when we just plain want to do what we wish, regardless of the facts.

rule no 1 take your wap mobile phone and scan the internet no2 enthusiastically volunteer to do car park duty with one of your spiritually weak friends no 3 when all else fails say your saved and believe in the trinity and you wont have to go any more

To survive the meetings, I skip a few here and there so when I go I really feel like seeing some of the nice people. Also, I don't study any meeting so that when I go the information isn't as redundant and boring.

In the meetings that I'm really bored, I fake a tummy ache or a terrible headache and leave the hall right away.

If you and your wife really feel better leaving the org, then more power to you both and continue enjoying your newly found way of life! ; But in all fairness, please leave your kids and their families alone if they feel just as good inside their religion.

Also, to call it a 'lie' but then go on to say how your child at home enjoyed her first christmas, is quite interesting reasoning on your part. ; If not living a 'lie' is what you both wanted, starting by celebrating the biggest lie of all is not the correct path really.</P>

I really left mentally when the new ray of light further clarified the 1914 generation theory. That's when I decided that a balancing act/double life was in order.

My parents are elderly, and we have such a nice relationship that I can't afford to lose now. I plan to do a nice fade once they either pass away or I move out of state where they can't see/hear about my slacking off.

I'm an active JW. However, due to a few struggles with our "faith", I've decided to lead a balancing act/double life of some sort.

I'll tell you what a think of our annual 'memorial': It's a special date in which I pick out a really nice outfit/shoes to wear and make lavish plans to have dinner and a grrreat time with 'friends' afterwards.

Profound spiritual meaning?! After 37 years of the same old crap?!!! Not at all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In my case I happen to have a true 'believing' mate, unlike me that I play quite a dangerous balancing/double life act.

What works for me is to strike his ego, and keep him happy in so many ways the WT can't.

Like me, he likes to travel and new adventures, so we spend much time doing just that. And... in bed........... oh boy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm winning big time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Play it!!! Play it!!! Women like attention, romance, and men like sex, sex, sex!!!

Judge Bans Shunning

today i spoke with a former jw i've been in touch with for several years and discovered what i think could be a major bombshell for the wts.

as we all know, shunning is the most powerful weapon the wt cult has over its members and for decades the wts has been able to get away with practicing it at their whim.

the us and other courts have permitted them to to use it, even though it destroys families and has ruined countless lives.

I wouldn't be surprised if down the line the WT receives 'new light' which decides that shunning is a thing of the past and that God, in his awesome wisdom, is the one to make the decision of accepting or rejecting people.

Actually, it may not be 'new light' at all, but rather a scheme to deal with the many law suits.

I've been expecting that 'new ray of light' for some a couple of years now. You all just watch!
